The biggest single tip I can give anyone who wants to write their own copy -- whether for a website, direct mail, magazine/newspaper space, or any other direct response medium -- is simply this:

Learn to write in your very own warm, human voice.

Instead of writing in "ad speak" (like you get blasted with from all different sides a gazillion times a day).

Why should you write in your own warm human voice?

Because as time goes on, people are starting (whether consciously or not) to tune out any kind of writing that is perceived as being "advertising."

They've had enough. Their reservoir is full.

So by just being yourself ... by being human in your copywriting, you have a lot better chance of getting past people's B.S detectors and going forward on the road to making the sale.
